Governing coral reef restoration in the Philippines

Michael Fabinyi is an Associate Professor at the University of Technology Sydney. He has authored or co-authored two books and more than fifty journal articles on the social aspects of coastal and marine resource governance and use. His work has been geographically concentrated in the Asia-Pacific, and a recent research focus has been on improving the institutional effectiveness of coral reef restoration in the Philippines. Before moving to UTS in 2016 he was based for six years at the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies at James Cook University. He has held visiting appointments at Peking University (2012-13), WorldFish (2015), and is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Palawan State University, Philippines.
